Sell Your Long Island House As-Is

Options for homes that need work, explained clearly, with no pressure to fix anything first.

Selling a House That Needs Work

You do not have to repair, clean out, or renovate a house before you sell it. If your home needs work, has deferred maintenance, came to you through an inheritance, or has tenant issues, there are practical ways to sell it as it stands.

Who this fits

  • Homes that need repairs or updating
  • Inherited homes
  • Properties with deferred maintenance or tenant issues

Your options

  • List on the MLS as-is. Your home reaches the widest group of buyers, but it may take longer and buyers will often negotiate for the condition.
  • Private (off-market) sale. Some owners choose a sale without a public listing. That can mean fewer showings, but fewer buyers see the home, which may affect the price. Results vary.
  • Sale to an investor. Some investors buy homes that need work. Terms and price vary, and offers often reflect the cost of repairs.
